Reliability and validity of the Japanese version of the Perth Emotion Regulation Competency Inventory (PERCI)

Regulating emotions appropriately is vital to our lives. Most of the self-assessment scales that have been developed measure emotion regulation ability focus only on negative emotions. The Perth Emotion Regulation Competency Inventory (PERCI), a 32-item instrument by Preece et al. (2018), provides comprehensive regulate positive and purpose this study was create Japanese version PERCI examine its reliability validity. Confirmatory factor analyses were conducted, concurrent validity test-retest checked; results indicated it reliable valid. Therefore, scale can contribute research in Japan.
